Derm Shield Aftercare Instructions

** Recovery Derm Shield is dye free, latex free, and vegan friendly. Yay!

How to Remove Derm Shield:

  • Don’t remove it dry… it’s much easier, safer, and cleaner to do so in the shower instead!

  • Go about your normal shower routine, and once that’s done, it’s time to remove the bandage.

  • Gently start to peel the Derm Shield away from the edges. Don’t pull it upwards, but instead peel it back over itself.

  • Take your time - seriously! Go super slow and let the heat and humidity of the shower help the adhesives release from the skin. Keep working in towards the center from the outside edges until the entire bandage can lift up.

  • Once the bandage is off, follow the cleaning and moisturizing instructions in the Bandage Aftercare Instructions. Within a few days, the tattoo will begin to dry out, and begin to peel and flake. This is completely normal. Larger tattoos will have more swelling, redness, and overall soreness for a longer period of time.
